Advice from School Family and Our Experts

Lisa @ School Family writes:
Hi Yasheika- I've heard teachers say that giving your kids chores around the house helps them learn about being responsible for actions. If he doesn't feed the dog, the dog is hungry, etc. Also, any chance you get try to teach your son about empathy. Let says he ruins a sibling's work - talk about how he would feel if someone did that to him. One of my favorite kids books that talks about these values and more is Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons by Amy Krause Rosenthal. It puts everything in a kid's perspective and kids love it!
