Curious to hear at what age other people let their kids go to other kids houses after school who they have not met. My K daughter has invited friends over and the parents let me pick their kids up from school even tho they have not met me. We are nearing the end of K and I am not ready to do that. Am I over protective?

Question: Play dates after school

Curious to hear at what age other people let their kids go to other kids houses after school who they have not met. Dixiemom- I don't think that you are overprotective! I think every parent should do what they are comfortable with and trust your gut. My kids never wanted to go to someone's house they didn't know until they were in like 3rd grade so there was no decision for me. But if there were, I would not send my child to a house where I had not met the parent. My two cents : )

I started letting my kids go on play dates without me driving them at the end of 2nd grade. But that was only if i had met the parents before. Why take chance with your kids, y'know.
