Since I do not know the particular special needs he has, it is difficult to say for sure. Because he is ADHD, he probably needs some fun, active time when he gets home from school before doing his homework. He also needs frequent movement breaks so that he is not expected to sit down and be still for too long at a time. ADHD children need structure and routine in their lives. If you show an interest in his homework--maybe he will also be more interested. Ask him to show you the work and try to be enthusiastic about the work.
