I have a 10 year old who is in 5th grade.He isn't doing his homework.He is lying to his teacher and having a hard time in general adjusting to 5th grade.I tried being the nice guy,I tried being the tough guy.I sat down with him and did watched him do his homework.I don't know what else to do

So many questions... Is this an abrupt change in his behavior? Did your son have any issues prior to this year? Have you had a meeting with his teacher to discuss your concerns? It could be related to some learning difficulties that have come up. Or it could be that is going through a tough spot with friends. Tween years can tough. If you work with his teacher or counselor to get answers to these questions then you can create a plan to get him on track before things get more difficult in school.
