You must first explain to him the value of doing homework, that homework is just a reinforcement of what he learns in school, and that doing homework promotes achieving higher grades in school. Remind him before dropping him off at school to bring his homework home everyday, tell him to check his folder for homework before leaving the classroom, and stick little notes on his lunch box or backpack reminding him to bring homework home. After doing this a few times, he should remember to bring homework home. Also, try talking to his teacher about this problem. His teacher might be a good help by asking him to put his school work in his backpack before class is over. Hope this advice helps.

I am not sure why you bothered to reply. To the parent of the 6th grader, google "ADHD middle school late work" and read for things that you think can help you. You will find many, many, many parents in your situation!
