Whether it’s making the bed before school, a doctor’s appointment midday, or sports practice and going home with a friend in the afternoon, a weekly schedule will help your child keep track of each day’s activities and important things to remember. After filling it out, your child can keep it in a binder or other spot that’s easy to access. Update weekly or as needed.

I like emails because Im always on the computerPosted by amysathome on Sep. 08, 2009
I do like email because I check my email everyday anyways and my child isn't held responsible for losing it and it saves the trees. However I do agree that the paper notices in the backpacks are meant to get parents and children to connect on a more personal level. I think it does get some parents to care more.Posted by - Willi on Sep. 05, 2009
I prefer email because I will be getting it when I should, not several days later.Posted by - Deborah Cuffaro on Sep. 04, 2009
Just trying to join having a problem, want my child tol earn alot about reading & spelling & morePosted by lakhanir on Sep. 03, 2009
because we are checking their backpacks almost everyday to get more information about what they did in the school and what is going on in the school, so that's a easiest way away from all junk mails and bills.Posted by coffeyfamily on Aug. 14, 2009
Getting in the habit of going through my child's backpack to look over such things as homework and find school notices is ideal. It gives the one-on-one opportunity to discuss what my child learned, what their homework, and what their notice is. It is also a great way to keep children from hiding things in their backpack, which is a great habit to get into before middle school!Posted by - Dr. Robbie K. Henry, Sr. on Aug. 11, 2009
For me E-mail is a great source for communicating. It provide me with with a better opportunity to respond in a timely manner. ThanksPosted by - annie on Jun. 14, 2009
E-mail is a more efficient way to receive mail as most people check their mail on a daily basis. This cuts the cost of running off numerous notices and duplicates coming home from all the children in the family receiving the same notice. For those people who do not have access to a computer, notices can still be sent home. We also help the environment by not using paper unnecessarily.Posted by - kim on Jun. 01, 2009
E-mail is so much easier and preferable for me - then I don'y have a pile of notices that get lost on my kitchen counter until that "important" date passes me by!Posted by - Serena on May. 30, 2009
I think it is most important to have the school email you so than you can know about all of the school stuff so than your child won't know that you got an email from his or her school and you will know that you got the email from your child's school because you got the email.Posted by - lizzy on May. 26, 2009

Email seems to be the most impactful for our working families. Having postings on the office window is also helpful. CPosted by - tc> on May. 06, 2009
