No Mayonnaise Tuna Salad

A sweet salad dressing replaces heavier (and higher fat content) mayonnaise in this tuna salad recipe.

  • 2 cans chunk light tuna, packed in water
  • 1-1 1/2 stalks celery, cut in half lengthwise and chopped into thin slices
  • golden raisins (optional)
  • pine nuts or walnuts (optional)
  • generous portion of sweet salad dressing, such as poppy seed (used in place of mayonnaise)
  • dried oregano
  • salt and pepper


  1. Drain the tuna well, then combine tuna with celery, raisins, nuts, and dressing.

  2. Season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.
  3. Serve as a sandwich on toasted slices of bread, or as a salad on top of lettuce leaves.
