Your child may not consider himself an authority on anything. But there’s probably at least one area where he comes close. One child may know lots about his favorite rock groups. Another may be able to play chess like a pro.
Your child can turn his interest into a good piece of writing. If the piece is an essay, he can write about his experience. How did he get interested? What does he love most about his hobby?
If it’s fiction, he could model one of the characters on himself. If he likes basketball, the main character could be a player. Or the story could be set in a gym where lots of people play the sport.
