But not every job may be right for your child. Here are some questions to ask before your teen is hired:
• How safe is the job? Will your teen have to work with any machinery on the job? What kind of training is provided?
• Will your teen be required to work late hours? If so, is the job in an area you consider safe?
• What will your teen do with the money she earns? Set up a regular budget—and expect that she’ll save most of her earnings for further education.
• How will your teen get to the job? (If you end up spending two extra hours in the car, the job may not be worth the money she makes.)
