Multi-age grouping is a type of classroom configuration often found in Montessori schools and other private school programs. Children of various ages and grade levels are placed in the same classroom. The classroom is structured to accommodate children at various levels. The benefit is that this structure allows students to go at their own pace regardless of age or grade level. Some public schools have one or more multi-age classrooms, and you might be offered a chance to participate.
