Your child will enjoy using rainbows as a theme for learning. Here are some ideas:
Read The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister, with your child. It contains a strong message about sharing with others.
Encourage your child to draw her own rainbow fish or any other rainbow animal. Encourage her to use lots of bright colors.
Eat rainbow-colored food. For example, offer your child a plate of vegetables in different colors with a favorite dip.
Go outside for a walk when the sun shines after a rain. Look for rainbows where the sun hits puddles or wet pavement.
Cut white paper into a rainbow shape. With your child, tear or cut small scraps of different colored construction paper. Let your child make a design by glueing the construction paper onto the rainbow shape.
