Indoor games and puzzles have grown tiring. And you’ll probably start to hear, “When is it going to be spring?”
You can’t make it spring outside. But you can create a little spring inside on even the most dreary winter day.
• Grow a vegetable garden. Remember, this one is child-size! All you need to do is place the cut-off tops of vegetables in a shallow dish. The cut part should be facing down. Cover with water. Add pebbles to the dish to make it pretty. Water often and they will grow.
• Have a picnic. Spread out a cloth on the floor. Put on shorts and T-shirts (or at least summer hats). Serve sandwiches, fried chicken or whatever your family’s favorite picnic food is. Remember a fun time you had last summer and daydream about what you’d like to do when spring arrives.
