Providing everyday experiences like these will teach important math concepts:
Play games together—dice games, board games like Monopoly, and card games.
Plan aloud with your child before doing errands. Ask things like “What should we do first, second, and last?”
Talk about time. “Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes.”
Have a clock with hands (not digital). Close your eyes and predict when 10, 30, or 60 seconds pass.
At the grocery store, involve your child in counting change.
Give your child a personal calendar, or make one. Together, mark down events and cross off days.
