You’ll need a large sheet of paper or poster board. (Grocery bags can be cut and taped together to make a large piece of paper.) Collect magazines that can be cut up. Add family snapshots that you don’t mind using.

Together, look through magazines with your child. Find pictures that tell about what the whole family has done. Look for pictures of the things your child likes—pets, foods, clothes.

Arrange the pictures on the paper and paste them in place. Your child may want to write a few words on the poster—“Look at me at nine years old.”

Leave space at the bottom of the poster for you to write back to your child. Hang the poster in a special place for everyone to see and enjoy.
