Here are some suggestions:
- In the days leading up to Valentine’s day, create a chain of paper hearts. Each one should spell out something you love about each family member. By the 14th of February, you may have a chain that stretches all around your kitchen.
- Cut out hearts from red construction paper. Use them to write notes to your kids this month. The heart should remind you always to end with, “I love you.”
- Make heart-shaped cookies. Use decorator’s icing to write special notes. Tuck one in your child’s lunch.
- The day after Valentine’s Day, when the cards go on sale, buy extras for each member of your family. Throughout the year, send family members an occasional card to let you know you love them—all year long.
