You can use these family gatherings to boost your child's self-esteem.
Every child needs to feel capable and appreciated. Help your child identify a new skill that he can show the rest of the family.
If your child is learning to cook, be sure to serve some cookies you have made together. If your child is learning to read, set aside some time for him to read to Grandma. Or read to a favorite uncle.
Being able to demonstrate a new skill will show your child you value what he is learning. It will boost his self-esteem and give him the confidence to keep learning new things.
This activity can also bring your child closer with family members. And it will make family gatherings even more special for everyone.
