They know tests are important. They want their parents to be proud of them. As a result, some kids become so anxious they can’t sleep, have trouble eating, or get a headache.
Here are some things you can tell your child to help soothe her nerves:
Let him know that everyone has to cope with tests. People take tests throughout their lives.
But good test scores are not everything. Be sure your child knows that teacher’s comments and daily grades are important.
Help him understand that one test score, good or bad, is just one test score. If most of his tests show he understands a subject, one low grade won’t hurt.
Encourage her to do her best. But reassure her that no matter what her test grades, your love for her will never fail.
