Homework can help students learn. It helps them “lock in” what they are taught.
Research shows that when homework is graded and commented on, it can help improve grades and achievement. And homework is an important link between home and school.
The most important thing you can do is set aside a regular time and place for homework. Be available for questions. Review the homework when it’s complete.
If your child has a problem with her homework, try going through the first question with her. If your child has trouble with homework regularly, contact the teacher.
Many schools have a homework policy. Ask whether there's one at your school. And make sure your child understands what’s expected of her. Homework is important.
