Expand Your Child’s World Through Multimedia Adventures
You probably can’t take your child on a trip to Southeast Asia this year. But if she’s the sort who loves adventure, you could “visit” it online.
That’s just one of the ways you can use TV and the Internet to expand your child’s world. Here are some other ways:
Foster creativity. Help your child find websites or TV shows that demonstrate how to make things. Provide glue, scissors, and other supplies. Then allow time to work on projects.
Promote family ties. Use the Internet to learn more about your family. Your child might be able to put your family photos on a website or a CD.
Encourage organization. Help your child set up a calendar on your computer.
Motivate thinking. Help your child find TV shows or websites that introduce her to new ideas. Take time to talk about them together.
