Sharing some books in installments is a great way to read with your children. Try reading a chapter each night. Then stop and ask your child what he thinks might happen next. Who is his favorite character? Why?
Try these books:
The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame. The adventures of Rat, Mole, and Toad have thrilled many kids and parents.
Pippi Longstocking, by Astrid Lindgren. Pippi’s spunk and humor appeal to children of all ages.
Stuart Little, by E.B. White. For kids who feel they’re too young or too small, Stuart is a great hero.
The House at Pooh Corner, by A.A. Milne. Pooh and Christopher Robin have many adventures in Hundred Acre Wood.
