Through your family’s efforts, your children will learn to value the environment.

Recycling allows your kids to develop responsibility for themselves and for the earth. It also helps you teach your child to be a better citizen of our country . . . and of the world.

Here are some tips on how to get started:

  • Find out what your child’s school is doing to recycle paper, plastic, and glass. Talk about these efforts with your child.
  • Ask your child to identify recyclable materials at home. Together, go to a recycling center.
  • Let companies that send you unwanted “junk” mail know you want to be taken off their mailing list. Your child can help write the letters.
  • Check out a book on recycling from your public library. Read it with your child.
