Here are three myths about science that you should not believe.
Myth #1: Science is hard. It would be difficult for anyone to know all the facts there are to learn in science.
Fact: Science is much more than just facts. It’s a way of looking at the world. It’s a way of thinking about problems. That’s why science is a great family activity.
Myth #2: If you don’t have all the answers, it’s better not to talk about science.
Fact: Scientists are people who want to try to find answers. If your child asks a question you can’t answer, you might say, “Let’s find the answer together.”
Myth #3: You need to buy lots of expensive equipment to do science experiments.
Fact: You can do lots of great science experiments at home without expensive equipment. Ask the librarian to help you find books with science activities your family can do together.
