Your child—and your entire family—can become stressed and even ill.
Your child may not know when to cut back to maintain balance. You’ll need to help.
A child who is overscheduled:
- Is irritable or mopes around.
- Can’t concentrate.
- Is restless at bedtime.
- Doesn’t finish homework.
- Picks fights.
- Starts overeating.
- Complains of stomachaches, headaches, or mysterious illnesses.
- Forgets a lot.
If your child exhibits a few of these signs, help her set priorities. Set aside time for homework first. Decide what activities she can cut from her schedule.
