Have him start his own business.
Here are some ideas:
• Pet care. Besides pet sitting, he could offer to walk or bathe pets for a fee.
• Tutoring. If he’s a whiz in math or computers, he might earn money tutoring younger students who are struggling.
• Catering. If he enjoys working with food, he might bake and sell homemade treats. Or he could work for people who are having parties at home and need help serving and cleaning up.
• Errands. Who has time to run errands today? Your teen can fill the gap.
Starting a business can do more than help your teen earn money, it can give him a chance to use math and other skills as he develops responsibility.
