sports, clubs and social activities, he concentrates on having a good time. He can get by without studying too much, and figures he will have plenty of time to study in college.

As a parent, you know that’s not so. Even the brightest teen may struggle in college if she goes there without good study habits. But your teen doesn’t want to hear it.

What will it take? Perhaps a sneak preview of college. A chat with some students, and a few minutes of listening to a college professor lecture may put a jolt into your teen. He may realize that what he sees is way over his head. And, it will stay that way unless he gets serious.

If you can talk with some admissions officials, even better. Many teens are surprised to learn what it takes to get into the college of their choice.
