your teen to visit the colleges in which she is most interested.

If possible, go along. But remember, your child will be the one attending.

Here are tips for your teen:

• Do advance work. Research the college in books, magazines and on the Internet. Call ahead to arrange a tour.

• Make notes. Bring a notebook to record your thoughts, remember interesting places, and write down the answers to questions.

• Pretend you’re already there. Sit in on a class. This is very important. Check out the library, gyms and student union. Find out about activities and sports.
