Offer these tips to boost her chances of success:
Stay positive! Suggest your teen tell herself, “I will be prepared, and I will do fine.” Repeat often.
Study every day. This is the same tried-and-true advice you can give your teen for success in every subject—but it’s even more important for a class such as chemistry or physics. Each time your teen is introduced to something new, she will need to use the concepts she learned before. Daily review will keep these concepts fresh in her mind.
Keep up with math. Math and higher-level science go hand in hand. Good math skills are essential for working science problems.
Do sample problems. Science books often give many examples of how to set up and solve problems. These are a great resource, but your teen should not simply read them. She should work through the sample problems on her own to make sure she knows the steps to follow.
