This will let both of you know whether she has grasped the concept being taught. It also gives you a chance to brainstorm about it. There might even be a way you could conduct an experiment together.

Some questions your teen should try to answer:

  • What is the idea involved in this lesson?

  • What makes this idea useful?

  • Do you agree with it?

  • Can you show me how it works? (Roll marbles down boards placed at various angles to demonstrate momentum.)

  • Why do you think your teachers want you to learn about this idea?

  • What have you already learned that is related to this idea?
