Many don’t read as much as they did when they were younger. But parents can help keep kids reading in their spare time. Just give them little snippets to read.

Cut out short articles from newspapers and magazines. Or copy motivational quotes or interesting facts. Look for topics that will interest your child.

Place the snippets where your child might have time to read them. Perhaps on his pillow or desk or in the bathroom.

To spark your child’s interest in reading the item, add a personal note. Ask for your child’s opinion. Or say, “I thought you’d find this interesting.”
