To succeed, a person needs the ability to respond to challenges.
The best way to respond to life’s challenges is to plan ahead. Teach your child to set goals and develop the resources needed to meet those goals.
Help your child picture the kind of person he wants to be and what he wants to achieve. Then encourage him to:
- Seek out teachers and other caring adults to help him put goal-reaching plans in place.
- Identify adult role models who have achieved similar goals. They should exhibit traits your child can imitate.
- Evaluate how he can best use his strengths. How can he minimize his weaknesses?
