Lisa @ School Family
Have you set a meeting with his teachers? That might be a good place to start. They might have some insight and ideas. Junior High is a big transition time. Our school principal tells parents that it's a time for parents to let go and a good time to let kids fail (within reason)... before they get to high school and it really counts.By this he doesn't mean to not be involved at all, just not to over manage. It's time for him to take responsibility for his actions. Hopefully if he gets a few bad grades it will be wake up call. If that doesn't work, it's time to talk to his guidance counselor -- another great resource.
