LiviaMcCoy writes: I can't speak for all teachers, but my favorite gift is when the student writes a note to say something they like about my class. It makes me know that I am appreciated and that they notice my efforts on their behalf. This is much better than buying me something!

arrowsmom writes: Once my kids got to middle school and high school with multiple teachers I stopped giving individual gifts. Instead I have my sons write a Christmas card to each teacher to wish them season greetings and then I add a note that our family is making a donation to a local children's toy drive charity in the name of the teachers at their school. We usually hear back from every teacher that they are honred by that donation.

That will be her momento, she can show it to any one proudly. or making a donation to social cause particularly when it can be done through the teacher is appreciated. It is better not to give material gifts. that will cause many problems in variety of ways.
