The answer to this depends on how old your child is. I would make it a point to ask what he or she did in school that day. Ask specific questions, especially about times of the day that are free time (like lunch or recess). Have your child tell you about conversations and activities during these times. Otherwise, if your child is being bullied he or she might cry and not want to go to school. Being bullied is not the only reason children cry about school, but it can be one reason.
