Terrific New Site that Helps You Stay Connected to Your Child’s Classroom

There is no more denying it: back-to-school is upon us.  So, are you in the “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” camp or the “sad to see them go” camp? For me, I always suffer from a feeling of disconnect when my kids go back to school. It started when my oldest started kindergarten (in a big way) and it has continued into high school.  Unless you have the rare child who dazzles you with details, I am guessing you know what I mean. The one word answers, the overwhelming lack of details about their day at school…

That’s why I was so excited to learn about a new site that Shutterfly, one of our Back2School sponsors, just kicked off.  It’s called Classroom  Connections and it’s a parent’s, teacher’s and room parent’s dream! Through this free, private, share site you can stay up to date with what’s happening in your child’s classroom. Teachers and parents can share photos, videos and class calendars on the site. What a fabulous way to feel connected to your child’s classroom and improve overall parent engagement*, huh? Another great thing about this site is when you go to make that end-of-year teacher’s gift, all the photos are right there. When I think of the pains I went to in order to collect photos from parents to create an end-of-year teacher’s gift, this kinda makes me want to weep!

Wait, did I mention that your classroom site is also private?  Highly recommend creating your Classroom Share Site today at www.shutterfly.com/roomparent.  You’ll get 30 free prints when you create the site and your site members will get a free 8x10 when the site is activated.

Happy back to school!
