I think the question should be worded a little different. I think it should ask how many nights a family sits down and eats together. I think the poll would be different.

I think it very important to sit down together and eat dinner. It gives us all time to share our stories and experiences for that day. It shows my son that family is about togetherness.

My husband and I started on our children while they are young to tell them how important it is to have family dinners. We make sure we eat together everyday and we talk about everything. This is one of the main reasons why our children don't hold ant secrets from their parents.

Dinner time is the families time to talk and catch up on our day. Our kids I think are more productive since we have started this. No more in front of the T.V for meals.

Being a busy family, dinner time is our time to chat about our day and spend time together. We can sit around the table for an hour just talking about our day. I think this is important to children. Growing up, it's what my parents always did and it was time I enjoyed. I want my kids to grow up like I did.

We also have breakfast together. It helps prepare for the school day.
The evening meal is longer and we are able to talk about the day's events and how they were handled.
Overall we just enjoy our family.

It makes sense that the same kind of people who research study helps and things to assist their children would be the kind of people who eat together every/nearly every day.

It is important to me that we all sit down together. My children are still small, but it makes us work together to get dinner on the table and the table set, which teaches them life skills.
