For me it's e-mail we also have a school web-site and a PTA e-news letter , and if all that were on fliers we would have to stack it somewhere
lol. It saves the school money to send notices electronically to those who have computers and for those who don't we send out notices in the folders. As a side note,I do folders everyday at school and it always bothers me that several of the children turn in there folders with the school work and notices still in them day after day.

I do like email because I check my email everyday anyways and my child isn't held responsible for losing it and it saves the trees. However I do agree that the paper notices in the backpacks are meant to get parents and children to connect on a more personal level. I think it does get some parents to care more.

I prefer email because I will be getting it when I should, not several days later.

because we are checking their backpacks almost everyday to get more information about what they did in the school and what is going on in the school, so that's a easiest way away from all junk mails and bills.

Getting in the habit of going through my child's backpack to look over such things as homework and find school notices is ideal. It gives the one-on-one opportunity to discuss what my child learned, what their homework, and what their notice is. It is also a great way to keep children from hiding things in their backpack, which is a great habit to get into before middle school!

For me E-mail is a great source for communicating. It provide me with with a better opportunity to respond in a timely manner. Thanks

E-mail is a more efficient way to receive mail as most people check their mail on a daily basis. This cuts the cost of running off numerous notices and duplicates coming home from all the children in the family receiving the same notice. For those people who do not have access to a computer, notices can still be sent home. We also help the environment by not using paper unnecessarily.

E-mail is so much easier and preferable for me - then I don'y have a pile of notices that get lost on my kitchen counter until that "important" date passes me by!
