A criterion-referenced standardized test measures your child’s grasp of the curriculum. It does not compare your child with other students; instead, it sets benchmarks and determines whether your child meets those standards. Results from this type of standardized test are often broken into categories such as “exceeds expectations,” “meets expectations,” and “does not meet expectations.”
