The Advanced Placement program is administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. It consists of about 30 challenging high school courses aimed at motivated students. At the end of each course, students take a standardized test geared toward the subject matter. Some colleges award credit for a high AP score. Solid scores on AP exams are highly regarded for college admissions.
