Hello I need to know jow to help peak my 13 year old son's interest in school. He seems to have a lot of missing assignments. I have to constantly remind him about things. this is his first year @ junior high school. He did not seem to hvae this problen last year in middle school. I really nfeed help. He has a french class and is doing very I do not wnat to fuss with him anymore. It does not seem to be doing any good.

Have you set a meeting with his teachers? That might be a good place to start.They might have some insight and ideas. Junior High is a big transition time. Our school principal tells parents that it's a time for parents to let go and a good time to let kids fail (within reason)... before they get to high school and it really counts.By this he doesn't mean to not be involved at all, just not to over manage. It's time for him to take responsibility for his actions. Hopefully if he gets a few bad grades it will be wake up call. If that doesn't work, it's time to talk to his guidance counselor -- another great resource.
