Welcome! So great to see that you have already joined some groups and jumped into the conversations. Congrats on being nominated for PTA pres! Have you been over to our parent site yet? http://www.ptotoday.com/
Hi all
This is the first online group aside from Facebook I've joined.I have a 6yr. old son in 1st grade. I am the PTA Parliamemtarian and a nominee for next years President although I'm not convinced in the wisdom of their nominating me. I'm lucky enough to be able to fit an hour a day to volenteer in my sons classroom into my schedual , a benefit of the downturn.I am always interested in what other parents have to say regarding education and any insights they might have into these child raising years.
Well my name is Debra, I am a single mother of three, two girls and one boy. I work full time at a doctors office and then go home and cook, clean, and do homework with the kids. And sometimes i have a had time with my oldest turning in her work, and my little one just doesnt like to do her work, but my son on the other hand loves to do his work. But sometimes i know that it is hard for us mothers that dont have any other help at home.
I just joined and I like what I see so far. I home school my four children. I have 3 that are in fifth grade and 1 in third grade. I'm looking forward to more interaction on the site.
Welcome AMmitch! Glad you decided to sign up. A snow storm in October - o boy! Hope that's not an indication of the winter ahead of us. Hope to see you in our discussions - lots of interesting groups and great people!
Welcome Bluebird! Hope you find the support you need in our community. Regarding the word problem, I would suggest having your grandson talking to his teacher about how to solve it. Think it's awesome that you are involved and trying to help! But I have found that Math is taught so differently now and the methods we used to solve problems have changed -- so I have my kids go directly to their teachers. Hope this helps.
Hello. This is my first time joining any kind of group, and I am not sure I am doing it right. I joined because I am in desperate need of a solution to a first grade math problem and for emotional support. I am a grandmother, and I am responsible for taking care of a 6 year old grandson. Would anyone be willing to see if they can help me solve the problem? I know the answer, but I cannot seem to explain to my grandson how to get the answer. Thanks so much for any assistance!
I am a stay at home mom! My honey and I have 3 children! We live out in the middle of nowhere in the Arizona Desert! Thankful for Satelites and Internet! We have a K12 through a Virtual Academy! We really love it! I love being completely involved in their education! Being able to go at their individual pace is Fabulous! Spend time on what is needed and breifly go over things they understand already! Wouldn't have it any other way! The kid's love it too!
