Make a Summer Memory Box

When your child enters school each fall, he’s sure to be asked, “What did you do over the summer?”

A fun way to answer is with a memory box:

 

  1. Help your child glue cloth, wrapping paper or other material to the outside of a shoe box.

  2. Decorate the material with other items, such as glitter and stickers. You might also label the box with the date and your child’s name.

  3. During the summer, put reminders of special events in the box. Some examples are seashells, ticket stubs, post cards, photos, and drawings.

  4. Have fun looking through the box as time passes, especially when someone asks, “What did you do over the summer?”

For easier storage, you can make a memory journal instead. Simply decorate the cover of a notebook and glue keepsakes to its pages.
