According to Faith and Cecil Clark in Hassle Free Homework, “Train your child and yourself to think of an F paper as Feedback … F papers represent more potential learning than do A papers.”
Look over the paper with your child and help her see what she missed … and then think about why she missed it. Here are some questions to ask:
• What kind of question did I miss? Was it an information question, a problem-solving question, or an opinion question?
• Did I miss the question because of something I didn’t read or remember from my notes or the book?
• What does the test tell you about the teacher?
