Consider a summer class.
Does your teen plan on college? Extra classes could help his application. But they can help teens who plan to enter the work world, too. They show employers that teens are willing to do a little bit more.
Here are some places to look:
- Local community colleges. Here your teen will find many types of classes. Not all are academic. Cost is usually reasonable. You may even be able to get a lower price. Check with the financial office.
- Local community centers. Do you have a community center nearby? It may have summer classes. These are often very affordable.
- Your town, city or county. Many local governments have classes. That’s especially true of larger areas. Often classes are run by the parks and recreation office. Call or write for a list.
